💿 MINIDISC COLLECTION
SONY MZ-N707 NET MD
My main Minidisc player/recorder. Silver finish, Net MD capable (connects via USB to transfer music faster than real-time). The satisfying click of the disc loading never gets old. Recording my favorite obscure albums to Minidisc feels like creating little time capsules.
MINIDISC LIBRARY
47 Minidiscs, each labeled with album title and artist. Mostly 74-minute discs, some 80-minute. The ATRAC compression has a distinctive sound - not as pristine as CD, but warmer somehow. Favorites include: Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works, Coil - The Ape of Naples, Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F# A# ∞.
⌨️ CUSTOM KEYBOARD
PURPLE 60% MECHANICAL
Built from a barebones kit. Kailh Box Jade switches (clicky, tactile, loud). Purple aluminum case with acrylic middle layer for RGB underglow. DSA keycaps in dark purple and lavender. Typing on it feels industrial - every keypress is deliberate. The sound is incredible - loud, crisp clicks that echo.
📼 VHS ARCHIVE
90s ANIME COLLECTION
Found in various thrift stores over the years. Mostly untranslated Japanese imports with incredible cover art. The grain, tracking issues, and worn-out tapes create a completely different viewing experience. Currently digitizing them to preserve before they degrade. Includes: Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Akira.
SONY TRINITRON PVM-14N5U
Professional video monitor. The colors and motion clarity are incredible compared to LCDs - no motion blur, perfect black levels, and that distinctive scanline look. Had to replace capacitors and adjust geometry. Playing old games and watching VHS tapes on it feels right - the way they were meant to be seen.
